Hi Tricia Christmas,

Welcome to Google Calendar help Community. There isn't dark mode for Calendar on desktop.
You can set the dark mode on your mobile by going to Settings, General, Theme.

You may as well set up dark mode for your Gmail by going to Settings, Theme and change to dark from there.

Regards,
NinCoT

Hi Tricia, in addition to NinCoT's suggestions you could install any chrome extension which has a 'dark theme' and apply it to Google calendar. You'll have to try a few as some work better than others.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately, dark mode affects me too - I cannot see text well on either white or black it has to be muted in some way.   It used to be great when I could add a background with 'flairs' which is no longer available.   I have background images supplied by one poster, but unfortunately, again they are too 'sharp' and the dates/days disapear into them.   I know I sound fussy, but when flairs no longer worked years ago now there was much on here about this, so I guess as Google took no notice of than then many people would have gone elsewhere.   It is such a shame as the Google Calendar works well in many other ways for me, but with worsening eye problems I will have to leave too.

I guess like most tech these days it is aimed at the young who have years ahead of them to spend money with these companies.

Thanks for your help though.

Hi Tricia, with the Chrome Extension approach I suggested you can set any colour you like for the background, so I'm sure you could find something that suits you.
