Importing a calendar from applications like Outlook or Yahoo using .ics file import shifts event times forward or backward.

Importing calendars from .ics files is shifting event times forward or backward by a number of hours. This includes files exported from Outlook, Yahoo! Calendar and other external providers. We are working on the fix & recommend against importing calendars until this is resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

Pressing 'Enter' doesn't work for some JAWS users (TT)

For JAWS users, some buttons may not respond to ENTER. In that case, you can use shift+ENTER instead.

Calendar isn't working for me in Chrome; works fine in other browsers

We've received reports from users about difficulty using Calendar in Chrome. Common symptoms are the inability to create a new event or edit events, and buttons being unresponsive. Using Calendar in other browsers works fine.

To fix this, try the following steps:

  1. Open a new incognito window (Ctrl+Shift+N) and try to log in to Calendar there.
  2. Go to chrome://extensions and disable all extensions, then try using Calendar again in your normal window.
This should solve your issues. The problem is often caused by an extension interfering with Calendar, so disabling the right one should make Calendar work again.

After that, you can re-enable the extensions one by one to see which one was causing problems with Calendar.

I’m using iOS 6.0.1 and I’m not able to edit events on secondary calendars.

Some iOS 6.0.1 users who are syncing Google Calendar with their device using the Microsoft Exchange account type are not able to edit events on secondary calendars.

Users are reporting that the 'Edit' button doesn't appear on the event on secondary calendars; the only options are “Accept”, “Decline”, or “Maybe”. We investigated the issue, and found out it only appears if the user is subscribed to Reminders and Notifications for that secondary calendar.

Unfortunately, this issue is a limitation of the ActiveSync protocol, and therefore cannot be resolved on our side.

However, there are several workarounds available:

  • Editing events on secondary calendars is still possible using the web interface by visiting google.com/calendar in your browser.
  • Unsubscribe from Reminders & Notifications for the secondary calendars using the web interface, which will allow you to edit events on your device.

Email or SMS reminders don't sync

Apple's iCal, Mozilla Sunbird, and Google Calendar differ in the types of event reminders offered. While Google Calendar supports pop-up, email, and SMS reminders, iCal and Sunbird only support pop-up reminders. Accordingly, only pop-up reminders are synced between Google Calendar and these calendar applications.

Unable to create Apple iCal To Dos for Google Calendar

This feature (iCal File > New To do) will either be unavailable for selection or you'll receive an error when selected.

Unable to create new Apple iCal calendars for Google Calendar

When trying to create a new (secondary) Google Calendar in iCal, you'll receive an error message. Even though a calendar may appear, it will disappear after restarting iCal.

Google Apps: Room scheduler is not supported

It's not possible to browse room availability or reserve conference rooms from within Apple iCal or Mozilla Sunbird. This feature is not supported by CalDAV.

Guest response not reset when event is changed

If an organizer changes the time or length of an event after a guest has responded (accept, decline, etc.), the guest response does not change. Normally after an event change, the guest’s response would be reset on the organizer’s iOS device. This issue only affects iOS devices and is not an issue when viewing Google Calendar on the web.

Unable to edit an event that moved to another calendar on Apple iCal

In Apple iCal if an event is moved from a primary calendar to a secondary calendar or visa versa, it cannot be edited.
