If you don't need a calendar anymore, you can permanently delete it or unsubscribe from it. If you think you might need the calendar later, you can hide it instead.
Learn who can delete or unsubscribe from a calendar
- As the calendar owner, you can:
- Delete all events from your primary calendar. However, you can’t delete your primary calendar.
- Delete any secondary calendars. If you share a calendar with other people or groups, the calendar is removed for everyone when you delete it.
- If you’re the calendar owner, you can’t unsubscribe from a secondary calendar, but you can hide it.
- To remove it, you must transfer ownership or delete it permanently. A secondary calendar is:
- Any calendar that you create.
- A group calendar that’s shared with you.

- If you’re not the calendar owner, you can unsubscribe from a calendar to remove it from your list.
Options for removing calendars
Hide a calendar temporarilyThis is a good option for calendars that you only check occasionally.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left, find the calendar you want to hide. It may be under "My calendars" or "Other calendars."
- Click the calendar to hide or show it.
When you remove a calendar from your list, you won't find it under "My calendars" or "Other calendars."
Remove a calendar
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left, find the calendar you want to remove. It may be under "My calendars" or "Other calendars."
- Hover your mouse over the calendar name and click More
.
- Click Hide from list.
Bring back a calendar you removed
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings
Settings.
- In the left column, find the calendar you want to bring back.
- Click Preview

Important: This action only applies to non-owners.
When you unsubscribe from a calendar, you won't be able to find it again unless the calendar owner or someone with the "Make changes and manage sharing" permission re-shares it with you.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings

- In the left column, select the calendar you want to remove.
- Click Remove calendar.
- Click Unsubscribe.
- Click Remove calendar.
You can ask the calendar owner or someone with the "Make changes and manage sharing" permission to share the calendar with you again.
Step 1: Ask the other person to follow these steps
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings

- In the left column, find the shared calendar you want to restore.
- Click the name of the calendar.
- Scroll down to the "Integrate calendar" section, and click the Secret or Public iCal address.
- Copy the link and send it to you.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings
Settings.
- On the left, click Add calendar
From URL.
- Paste the Calendar Address link you received from the other person in the URL field.
- Click Add Calendar. You should find the calendar listed on the left side of Google Calendar.
Important: This action is only available to the calendar owner.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings

- In the left column, find the calendar you want to delete.
- Click the name of the calendar.
- Click Remove calendar
Delete
Delete permanently.
You can't delete your primary calendar, but you can delete all of its events.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- At the top of the page, click Settings
Settings.
- Click the name of your primary calendar at the top of the list. It's usually labeled as your first and last name.
- At the bottom of the page, click Delete. It may take a few minutes to fully access Google Calendar's features after clearing your primary calendar.
