Options for inviting guests

Invite people who don't use Google Calendar

You can invite people who don't use Google Calendar to your event. Follow the steps above and invite the person using their email address.

Invite people using Google Groups

You can invite a Google Group to your event instead of inviting people one by one. Follow the steps above and add the email address for the group. Learn more about inviting groups to your event.

See who is coming to your event

When guests receive your invitation email, they can respond using the Yes, No, or Maybe links in the email.

To see who responded to your event:

  1. Open the Google Calendar app Calendar.
  2. Open the event.
  3. In the "Guests" section, you'll see who is attending.
Find a meeting time

If your Google Account is through your work, school, or other group, you may see the "Find a time" button after you add guests to your event. When you tap "Find a time," you'll see suggested times based on your guests' availability.

  2. In the bottom right, tap Create Create event.
  3. Tap Event.
  4. Under "Add people," add people to your event.

I don't see the "Find a time" button

  • Make sure you've added guests to your event.
  • Make sure you're online.
  • Make sure the event isn't recurring.
  • Make sure the event doesn't last multiple days.
  • If you still don't see it, talk to your network administrator about your organization's calendar sharing settings. If calendars aren't shared on your network, you won't see the button.

Forward a calendar invitation email

Important: If you forward an invitation, the recipient might be able to see updated meeting details and could change your RSVP response at any time.

If you have permission to add guests to an event, you can forward the invite to new guests by email. When new guests respond to the invite, they’ll be added to the guest list. They’ll also be able to invite others.

If you don’t want guests to be able to invite others, edit your event, tap the guests, and turn off “Guests can add others.”

Email or chat with invited guests

Calendar only creates a group chat with guests invited to an event when there are no more than 50 guests (including the organizer). External guests aren't added to group chats.

Important: The chat feature is only available if you use Google Calendar through a work or school account.
  1. On your Android device, open the Google Calendar app Calendar.
  2. Tap an event.
  3. Next to the number of guests, select an option:
    • Chat with guests : A new or existing chat opens. Only Chat-enabled guests in your work or school organization are included in the chat.
    • Email guests : A new email opens. All invited guests are included in the email.
