Export your calendar

You can export events from all your calendars, or just a single calendar.

Ways to export calendars

You can only export calendars listed under "My calendars" on the left side of Google Calendar. To export a calendar, you also need to have the "Make changes and modify sharing" sharing setting. Learn more about sharing settings.

Note: If you're planning to export and re-import events into the same Google Calendar, don't delete the events in your calendar first. Deleting all the events will cause your import to break.

Export events from all calendars in your "My calendars" list
  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar. You can only export from a computer, not a phone or tablet.
  2. In the top right, click Settings settings gear button > Settings.
  3. Open the Calendars tab.
  4. Click Export calendars between the "My Calendars" and "Other Calendars" sections.

A ZIP file will be downloaded to your computer. If you open the .ZIP file, you'll see individual ICS files for each of your calendars.

To import the files back into Google Calendar, take the individual ICS files out of the ZIP file and import them one by one. Learn more about importing files.

Export events from one calendar
  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar. You can only export from a computer, not a phone or tablet.
  2. In the top right, click Settings settings gear button > Settings.
  3. Open the Calendars tab.
  4. Click the calendar you want to export.
  5. Find the Private Address section, and click the ICAL button. If you don't see the "Private Address" section, you don't have access to export the file.
  6. A box will open with a link that you can use in two ways:
    • Download: Click the link and an ICS file will start downloading. Your file will be stored on your computer wherever your downloads are usually saved.
    • Copy and paste: Some calendar applications let you import your calendar using an iCal link. Copy the link , then paste it into the other app according to their instructions.

Troubleshoot problems

"Feed processing error"

You might get this error if you clicked the ICAL button in the "Calendar Address" section.

Instead, click the ICAL button in the "Private Address" section instead. If you don't see the "Private Address" section, you can't export the file.

Can't export events

If you use Google Calendar through Google Apps for Work, Education, or Government, your domain administrator might control your exporting options. If you can't export your calendar data, contact your administrator.
