Is this the right page for you?

This page is about the default calendar app for Android 2.3, an older version of Android. The Calendar app that came on your Android 2.3 phone might be a bit different depending on the type of phone you have. You can try using this page, or look for help from your phone manufacturer.

Find out if you're using Android 2.3

Directions for your device may be a bit different, but here's the general idea:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Open the About phone/device/tablet section. It might be at the bottom of the page, or on a different page in Settings.
  3. The Android version section tells you which version you have.

If the number is 2.3, you're on the right page. But keep in mind that the calendar app that came on your device might be different so the exact steps may also be a bit different.

If the number isn't 2.3, try one of these other pages:

Get started

Because your Google Account is already on your Android phone, you should already be set up to use the Calendar app. Just open the app and any events you added previously should already be synced.

But if you want to add another account, or make sure Calendar is synced, follow these steps:

If you want to add an additional account to Calendar, add your other Google Account to your device. When you add an account, Calendar is set to sync by default, but you might want to check to make sure.

Directions for your device may be a bit different, but here's the general idea:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Find the Accounts section.
    • To add an account, touch Add account, select Google, and follow the rest of the screens to add your account.
    • To make sure your current account is set to sync with Google, touch Google, select your account, and make sure Calendar is checked.

Create an event

Add an event to your calendar
  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. In any Calendar view, press Menu  > New event. Or, touch and hold a spot in Day or Week view and choose New event.
  3. Add details about the event, such as the event name, location, and time, and invite people by entering their email addresses.
  4. To add more details about the event, press Menu  and touch Show extra options
  5. When you're done, touch Done at the bottom.

The event will be added to your calendar, and the guests you've added will receive an email invitation.
