Our address will not change on Google, no matter how many verification postcards we send.
0
Hello,
We moved offices awhile ago and have been trying to update our address on Google My Business. We understand that that usually requires a postcard, which is fine. We have gone back and forth with postcards three times to fix the address, and every time it reverts back. Then, to change it to the new address, Google wants us to send another postcard. We've tried rejecting the edits, same issue.. We cannot keep receiving postcards at our office and spending time re-verifying our Google My Business, only to have it revert back again. Google support has told us twice to just send another postcard, but when we tried that, it still reverted back, and then they started all over with the issue and told us to try another postcard.

Has anyone ever run into an issue like this before? Can anyone help us out?

Hello Tara,

I can sympathize with your frustration. This is a very common issue with Google verification postcards recently. There are a couple reasons why when receiving your postcard, the code become invalid or reverts back to the verification process.

1. After requesting for your postcard, information on your profile was edited resulting in the postcard to become invalid. I would suggest requesting for another postcard and leaving your profile alone until you receive the code.

2. The postcard took more than 30 days to be delivered to you. 30 days or more results in expiration of the code. Which is completely not your fault since Covid has effected most delivery systems around the world.

I would suggest contacting customer service if the above reasons do not apply to your situation. You may be able to verify through webcam since you have attempted to receive postcards so many times. You can contact them here https://support.google.com/business/gethelp.

Hope this helps! If it did please kindly mark this answer as recommended, so others in the same situation may gain guidance as well.

It sounds like you might have a 3rd party tool connected to your listing that is overwriting this.  You can see what apps currently have access to change your account here: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions?pli=1.  Look for things listed under the third-party apps section that say they have access to manage business listings.
