Has Google found a way to authenticate the validity of reviews? 2 Recommended Answers 4 Replies 1 Upvote

Our company has received several 1 star reviews from accounts we cannot authenticate ever purchased from our company. We believe they are accounts created by the previous owner of the company that is now upset with the current owners and is trying to spam the account to bring down ratings. He is making false claims about experiences that never occurred. Is there a way for Google to authenticate a review by receiving an order number or photo of the product. If not, is there a way to have an option in the "Flag as Inappropriate" where the owner can check a box stating the review is a false claim or the person reviewing has not actual placed an order with the company?

That is what I've been reading so far. Are they working on a way to authenticate the reviews?
