Temporarily closed option

Given the current state of COVID-19 in Europe, many businesses are forced to be temporarily closed. Is it still the case that businesses can only reach out to Google support to mark locations as temporarily closed?

Perhaps there is a need for a new feature to temporarily mark locations as closed? With special opening hours, if one puts it as closed for longer than 7 days, on maps view the opening hours field simply do not appear. That is not what most businesses expect to see when they have marked their daily business hours as closed.

From a user perspective, it would also be really helpful to see from 1 glance if a business is temporarily closed, instead of having to search for opening hours field.

Hi User94,

On March 15, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, published a post about Google's COVID-19 response.

To quote: "In the coming days, we’ll make it possible for businesses to easily mark themselves as “temporarily closed” using Google My Business."

I haven't seen it yet but we should, hopefully, see the option soon.

as  far  as I know  Google  is fully aware  the matter  and many users  (me too) suggested  them  also to improve soon the  possibilities to get a listing marked as  "temporarily  closed"

Finger crossing  they will  hopefully have a  solution asap

i am located in MA.  I finally was able to change my business status, but, only after losing a client.  It took several weeks for Google to approve my edits to my business.  We are not TEMPORARILY CLOSED, WE ARE OPEN.  My employees are working from home and I have kept them employed throughout this whole ordeal.

Hello, we were temporarily closed during Covid and opened back up last Wednesday and our "Open" status has been under review since then. It's imperative for us to appear as open as soon as possible. Please help. Thank you!

SAME! We have been open since May 1, but our status still says temporarily closed, and we can't see how to change it to open.

Hi Dev,

No idea.

Do you have a verified business profile with Google My Business for your business?

All the Best,

The problem is that my business has been marked "Temporarily Closed" but we are open!!  I did not opt for "Temporarily Closed"...and I can't find a way to fix it and no one at google can be reached.  I suspect a lawsuit is pending as people lose business because of this.

My business has been marked temporarily closed as well. I have yet to find a way to fix it.

My business just appeared as temporarily closed. We did not do this edit. I have gone into settings - info - and on the right side clicked open store. It is remaining under review. First, please fix this ASAP, I cannpot afford for customers to think we are not open. Second, how is it possible for an outside entity to mark my business temporarily closed? Is there a way to block this from happening again? Time are tough enough without this type of shenanigan and then a delayed period to correct it. PLEASE HELP!!!

MY BUSINESS IS CASA PAWN 3939 N 1ST AVE TUCSON AZ 85719 520-344-7296. I have been open throughout this entire ordeal and cannot afford to be shown as closed now. PLEASE HELP!!!
