When I search my business name, it asks "did you mean" and offers a different name.

When I search my business name, the search is done, but at the top of the page, it asks "did you mean" and offers a different name. What's worse is that the Google Business that is presented on the screen is not mine when the business name is typed in correctly, but when it is typed incorrectly (i.e., what Google thinks I meant to type), then my Google Business profile does show up correctly.

Hi Taslim Alani-Verjee

Without any business details to check - I am going to assume this is because Google is unsure if the user is actually searching for your brand name and instead tries to offer a different Brand name that they know users search for.

In this instance I would be looking at building some Branding to the business, like social channels - business citations etc.

If you provide the name and address of business - I can double check this theory >> screenshot of what you see would also be handy.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for this. So since that initial post, at least now when I Google it, the right business shows up. However, it still asks if I meant something else. I think you're right on the nose about why that's happening. My business is called "SILM Centre for Mental Health"; however, it keeps asking if I meant "SLIM Centre for Mental Health". I am particularly concerned because I absolutely would not want my mental health practice having the work "slim" in it.

Thanks,
Taslim
