About photo updates from customers

When customers visit a Business Profile on the Google Maps app, they have an option to add a photo update in addition to a review. They can also use photo updates to share recent experiences with your business.

Understand customer photo updates

Each update can include one or more photos, with or without text. While customers can post multiple photo updates to a Business Profile, they can only post one review per business.

Tips:

  • You can’t opt out of photo updates, but you can report ones that are inappropriate.
  • You won’t get notified about photo updates. However, you’ll get notifications when new photos are added to your profile, whether as a photo update or a separate upload.

Find photo updates

You can find photo updates in the “By visitors” section in the "Updates" tab of your Business Profile on Maps or in the Google Maps app. You can also find individual photos from photo updates in the “Photos” tab on all platforms and devices.

You can add your own updates in the “By Owner” section of the “Updates” tab. Learn how to create & manage posts for your Business Profile.

Tip: Photo updates aren't displayed in the Business Profile Manager.
