Add or edit attributes

Attributes let customers know what your business has to offer, such as whether a restaurant offers Wi-Fi or outdoor seating, or if your business is women-led. Adding relevant, accurate attributes to your Business Profile helps you stand out to your customers who find your business on Google.

Attributes appear on your Business Profile on Google Search and Maps. Some attributes, like 'Outdoor seating' or 'Women-Led', can be highlighted as badges when customers find your business on mobile.

How it works

There are two types of attributes: factual attributes (like outdoor seating, women-led) and subjective attributes (like whether your business is popular with locals). You can directly edit certain factual attributes. However, subjective attributes rely on the opinions of Google customers who’ve visited your business.  

Your business category determines the attributes available for your Business Profile. For example, you might get attributes for acceptable payment types, accessibility options, or whether the business is LGBTQ-friendly. When you edit your business information in Google My Business, you're shown which attributes your business can have.

Add or edit attributes

  1. On your computer, sign in to Google My Business.
    • If you have multiple locations, open the location that you'd like to manage.
  2. From the menu, click Info.
  3. Find 'Add Attributes' Attributes and click Edit Edit. You can search for the attribute that you want to add, or scroll through all the available options for your business.
  4. When you're finished updating your attributes, click Apply.

Customers who find your business on Google Search and Maps can find your new attributes. New attributes will be visible to customers who find your business on Google Search and Maps.

Tip: If you own or manage a doctor profile, you can edit your gender information in Attributes. If you want to remove your gender information, contact us.
