Location Insights for your business
Location Insights give you a closer look at who your customers are and how they visit your location. If you’re part of the Location Insights pilot, you’ll find your Location Insights in the Insights menu on your listing.
This section shows when your location is busiest. You’ll see an hour-by-hour graph of how many customers visit your location, based on Google estimates. Use the dropdown menu at the top left of the card to select which day of the week you’d like to analyze.
At the bottom of the card, you’ll also see “Visit length”, which tells you how long customers typically spend at your location.
This section shows how frequently a given percentage of your customers visit your location. Use the dropdown menu at the top left of the card to select a timeframe. Then, look at the pie chart that appears to see how many customers visited your location once or multiple times in that period.
To determine popular times and visit duration, Google uses aggregated and anonymized data from users who have opted in to Google Location History. Popular times and visit duration are shown for your business if it gets enough visits from these users. You can’t manually add this information to your location, and you may not see it if Google doesn’t have sufficient visit data for your business.
Visit data may include:
- Popular times graph: Shows how busy your location typically is during different times of the day. Popular times are based on average popularity over the last several weeks. Popularity for any given hour is shown relative to the typical peak popularity for the business for the week.
- Visit duration: Shows how much time customers typically spend at your location. Visit duration is based on customer visits to your location over the last several weeks.
- Repeat customers: Shows the percentage of customers that have returned to your business when Google can detect a visit.
