About advanced verification

Google has policies in place to ensure the quality of listings on Google Search and Maps and invests substantial resources to stop bad advertising practices. Unfortunately, a number of fraudulent local services, including locksmiths and plumbers, use false identities on Google and put customers at risk.

To reduce fraud and level the playing field, plumber and locksmith businesses that don't have storefronts and plumber and locksmith advertisers must complete the advanced verification process. The process is simple -- you’ll answer a few questions about your business, pay a one-time fee of $50, and complete an application with Google’s third-party verification company.

After passing advanced verification, your business will be eligible to advertise in San Diego and your business listing will be eligible to appear on Google Maps and the Knowledge Panel
