Update your Business Profile directly on Google

Important: Certain features to manage your Business Profile may differ between Google Maps and Search, and the operating system.

If you own or manage a business, you can create and edit a free Business Profile for customers to find on Google Maps and Search. To create or claim a Business Profile, sign up for Google My Business.

After you verify a business, you can make changes to your Business Profile wherever it appears, like on Google Search and the Maps mobile app.

You can:

• Edit your profile: Easily manage your business information, adjust your hours, or add a menu.
• Promote your business: Add photos or updates to stand out on Google.
• Connect with your customers: Connect with your customers by responding to reviews and questions.

Who can update a Business Profile on Search and Maps

Important: If you recently became verified or were added to a business as an owner or manager, it might take 14 days before you get options to update the business. In the meantime, you can manage your Business Profile through Google My Business.

Who can update a Business Profile: People with owner and manager permissions to the business through Google My Business.

Who can’t update a Business Profile:

• People with site manager permissions
• People with Web & App Activity turned off

Own or manage a Business Profile

The Business Profile is displayed to the public and shows up in search results when users search for your business. However, only owners and managers of the profile can create posts and reply to reviews.

Tip: To find how your profile shows up to people who are not owners or managers, use Incognito mode in Google Chrome or Maps.

Manage your Business Profile on Google Search

To manage your profile directly on Google Search:

1. Sign in to the Google Account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
2. To find your Business Profile, search on Google for your exact business name. You can also search for “my business.”
3. If needed, to manage your Business Profile, select View profile.
4. In the menu above the search results, choose Edit profile, Promote, or Customers.

Manage your Business Profile on the Google Maps app

To manage your profile directly on the Google Maps app:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Sign in to the Google Account you used to sign up for Google My Business.
3. To open your Business Profile, in the top right, tap Account Circle   Your Business Profile.
4. Choose from the available options, like Edit or Add photo.

Stop managing your Business Profile

You can add or remove other owners and managers from a profile, or remove a business from your account:

• Add or transfer profile management: Add other owners and managers.
• Remove a business from your Google Account:
  • If the business is still open, you can remove the business from your account. The business is only removed from your account, not from Google Maps or Search.
  • If the business is closed, before you remove it from your account, you can mark a business as permanently closed.
