Mark a location permanently closed

If any of your locations permanently closes, you can mark it 'Permanently closed' on Google to keep your customers up to date.

If you have only one Business Profile

  1. On your computer, sign in to Google My Business.
  2. On the left, click Info.
  3. Click Close this business on Google and then Mark as permanently closed and then Close business.
    • To expand this section, you might need to click the arrow.

The profile now displays as “Permanently closed” on Google Maps and Search.

If you have multiple profiles

  1. On your computer, sign in to Google My Business.
  2. From the list of locations, select all locations that you want to mark 'Permanently closed'.
  3. On the toolbar, at the top, click Actions and then Permanently closed.
  4. Click More More and then Mark as permanently closed.
  5. In the dialogue, click Mark permanently closed.

The locations now display as 'Permanently closed' on Google Maps and Search.

Locations reported as closed

You may get a 'Reported as permanently closed' notification if Google has updates that a location has permanently closed.
  1. Click Reported as permanently closed and then Confirm closed.
  2. To confirm the location status, click Review.

The location now displays as 'Permanently closed' on Google Maps and Search.

Tip: If any of your locations are mistakenly marked permanently closed, you can reopen the location.
