Troubleshoot Trusted Verifier

This article provides details on troubleshooting common issues you may have encountered with the Trusted verifier app.

If the app doesn’t open, try uninstalling the application from your device and installing it again.
Someone else owns the listing
If the business you're attempting to verify already has a listing owned by someone else, try the following:
  1. Make sure the business representative is signed in using the correct Google Account.
  2. Confirm they're verifying the correct business by checking the business name and address.
  3. Guide the business owner to request ownership of the listing. In the meantime, they can click Report a problem to update business details, such as an incorrect street address or phone number. 
Prompted to download the Google My Business App
When you enter business.google.com/add/tv into your mobile web browser, you may be prompted to download the Google My Business app. To get past this prompt, try the following:
  1. Click the menu icon .
  2. Click Request desktop site.
  3. Continue with the sign up process.
Verifications don't upload

Verification uploads could fail for a few reasons. The most common possibilities are listed below with steps to fix the issue.

You're signed in with the wrong Google Account

To make sure you're signed in with the correct Trusted Verifier account, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the account icon  .
  2. Select the Google Account you provided when you joined the Trusted Verifier program.
  3. Scan the QR code again.

Our systems are experiencing a temporary issue or your account may have temporarily lost access

To get past temporary access or technical issues, follow these steps:

  1. Look for the clock icon  next to your verification. The clock icon means that the upload is in progress, and hasn't failed. The upload resumes automatically when our system issue is resolved.
  2. Swipe down to refresh the screen and check the upload status.

Your account isn't syncing with your device

To fix sync errors in verification, follow these steps:

  1. Look for the error icon  next to your verification. The error icon means that the upload is delayed, and hasn't failed.
  2. Follow these steps to fix the error and resync. The upload resumes automatically once your device has finished syncing.
  3. Swipe down to refresh the screen and check the upload status.

Report problems or feedback in the app

To escalate issues or provide feedback to improve the app, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the help icon .
  2. Tap Sending feedback.

When escalating an issue, provide us with the following information:

  • Business name and address
  • Any error codes or messages you see when attempting to verify the business (For instance: Error code 403, 404)
