To enable verification for a business, follow these steps:

  1. On the verification page above, have the business owner click Verify. A QR code appears.
  2. Follow the appropriate steps below, depending on whether the user is using your device or their own.
    • User has their own device
      1. Open the Trusted Verifier app on your Android device. Make sure that you have the GPS Services location turned on for your device if you’re verifying on-site. Learn more about Location services.
Note: The app is represented by this icon: Pink verified
      2. If you have more than one Google Account registered on your device and you haven’t previously chosen which one is used by the Trusted Verifier app, you're prompted to select one. Select the Google Account you provided to join the Trusted Verifier program.
      3. In the bottom right corner of the screen, open your camera by tapping Camera Camera.

      2. Proceed to Finish verification.

Finish verification

To finish verifying a business, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that the business name, address, and category displayed in the app match the required documents. If any information doesn’t match, do not complete the verification. Make sure that the business owner hasn’t accidentally tried to verify a different business.
  2. In the bottom right corner of the screen, tap Send Send .
If you verify a business that you later decide shouldn’t have been verified, tell us by tapping Help Help in the app, then tapping Send feedback. Make sure to include the business name, so our team can suspend the business or require mail verification.

Once you send the verification, you can track the upload status of all of your verifications on the main screen of the Trusted Verifier app.

The icon beside each business tells you the status of the verification. See the table below to learn what each icon means:

Icon Icon name What it means
Verified Verified The verification has been successfully uploaded.
Clock Clock The verification hasn’t been uploaded to Google’s servers yet. This can happen when there are connection problems at the moment of verification. When the connection is reestablished, the verification is uploaded and the Verified icon Verified appears.
Error Error

Something went wrong and verification didn’t succeed.

Report the error by tapping Help Help in the app, then tapping Sending feedback. Be sure to include the business name in your feedback.

How to confirm verification status

Once the QR code is read and the verification is either complete or in progress, confirm the verification with these steps:

  1. Just below the QR code, have the user tap Done.
  2. On the "Waiting for your Google representative" screen, have the user tap Continue.

If the listing has been successfully verified (signified by the Verified icon Verified in the Trusted Verifier application), the business owner can confirm the verification by visiting their Google My Business listing and checking for the pink Verified badge beside the name of the business.
