Business groups provide a more secure way to manage and share access to your Business Profiles with co-workers. It’s like a shared folder for your profiles. If you currently share your account username and password with other users, you should transition to a business group as a safer way to work together.

Create a business group
Important: If you’re new to Business Profile and need to manage multiple businesses, we recommend you create a business group and use that group to add, verify, and manage your profiles. This can save you time and effort if you decide to share access to that group later on.
- Sign in to Business Profile Manager.
- If you have 2 or more profiles, at the top right, select Create group.
- Enter a business group name.
- Select Create.
Transfer businesses to a business group
- Sign in to Business Profile Manager.
- Select one or more profiles that you want to transfer to a business group.
- Select Actions
Transfer businesses.
- Select the business group that you want to receive the profiles.
- Select Transfer.
Tips:
- You can only transfer profiles to a business group that you own or manage.
- When you add another user, like a co-worker or agency employee, as a manager or owner to the business group, they can access all current and future profiles placed in the group.
Delete a business group
Important: If you no longer want to manage a specific Business Profile, you can remove the profile from your Google Account.
If you no longer need a business group, you can delete it. When a business group is deleted, it can’t be undone. If you want to hand over responsibility for a set of businesses, you can transfer ownership of the group instead.
To delete a business group, you must be an owner of the group. Before you delete a group, you must first remove or transfer all businesses within it to another group.
- Sign in to Business Profile Manager.
- From the “Ungrouped” dropdown menu, select the business group you want to delete.
- Select Group settings
Delete group.
- In the “Delete a business group” box, select Delete.
Tips on how to manage business groups
Limit business groups to one account per business or brand. It’s not possible to import a single spreadsheet across multiple business groups or download profile info from across business groups together into one spreadsheet.
If your organization operates multiple brands or divisions that require different sets of users who have access, you can create multiple business groups.
| Advantages | Disadvantages | |
| With one business group | Check all profiles in one dashboard and manage a single spreadsheet. | Owners and managers may have access to check and edit all profiles within the group that they shouldn’t manage. |
| With multiple business groups | Owners and managers can only view and edit the profiles within the group. | Each group requires a separate spreadsheet import and you won’t be able to find all profiles in one dashboard. |
Tip: You can manually add owners and managers to single Business Profiles within a business group.
Other considerations
- Each business group requires its own spreadsheet to import businesses.
- Each business group has its own managers and owners.
- A business group can’t act as a manager of other business groups.
