In some cases, you might want to transfer primary ownership of a Business Profile to an existing owner or manager. If you’re the only user associated with your profile, you can add more owners and managers.
Important: If you want to transfer ownership of your business, make sure that you’re transferring primary ownership of your Business Profile to the new owner. This ensures that all of your business info, like reviews, are maintained.
Understand Business Profile owner and manager roles
The two types of roles, owners and managers, for Business Profiles have different levels of access to the profile:
- Only owners can add or remove users.
- Managers can remove themselves from a profile.
- You can’t add Google Groups as managers or owners.
- Only the primary owner can transfer primary ownership.

Understand new owners and managers limitations
The new owner or manager of a Business Profile must wait seven days before they can manage all the features. During these seven days, they might get an error if they:
- Delete or undelete a profile.
- Remove other owners or managers from a profile.
- Make themselves or someone else the primary owner.
- If the new owner or manager leaves the business within the first seven days, they’ll be removed from the profile. If they change their mind, they’ll need to be added again.
Tip: If an existing owner or manager tries to transfer primary ownership of the profile in charge within their first seven days, they’ll get an error.
