When you make changes to your business, you can request to move your reviews from an old Business Profile to a new one, or we might move reviews automatically for you. If significant business changes occur, we might remove irrelevant reviews. Not all business changes qualify to move or remove reviews.
Reviews help your business and your customers only when they’re relevant, helpful and reliable.
Move your reviews
Important: Do not create a new Business Profile because of a change in a physical location or ownership.
- If you unintentionally create and verify a new Business Profile because of a change in a physical location or a change in ownership, you can transfer your reviews from the old profile to the new one. To transfer your reviews, contact us.
- If you move your business to a new location and keep the same business name, Google moves the reviews to the new location. However, this doesn’t always happen for places like hotels, golf courses or scenic attractions.
Understand why reviews can’t be removed
- If a business has a new owner or manager but keeps the same name, the reviews remain.
- To explain any changes or improvements to your business, you can reply to old reviews. Learn how to read and reply to your reviews.
- If a business makes a minor name change or if a business with multiple locations changes its name, the reviews remain.
- If your business changes its name but doesn’t meet the criteria above, it’s considered a new business.
- If your business closes for a while or permanently, the reviews remain on the page. Customers can leave new reviews for temporarily closed businesses but not for permanently closed ones.
