Business Profile for service businesses overview

Not all businesses have a physical location that customers can visit. Many local businesses provide services that go to customers directly. To help your service business understand how to get the most out of your Business Profile on Google, use this guide.

Determine your type of service business

Business Profile represents service businesses as either a service-area business or a hybrid business.

  • Service-area business: A business that visits or delivers to customers directly, but doesn't serve customers at its business address.
    • For example, a plumber or a pet walker.
  • Hybrid business: A business that both serves customers at its business address and directly visits or delivers to customers.
    • For example, an auto shop with a roadside assistance service.

Find your business information on Google

After you complete and verify your Business Profile on Google, your customers can more easily find and engage with your business. When customers search for your service business or its category on Google Maps or Search, they can find your profile and the areas you serve. Your profile will show up in a list of profiles and next to similar businesses in your area.

Your profile can include your business name, website, phone number, hours of operation, reviews, services offered, and more.
