Hey all,For the past two years we have been working on developing a new Blogger interface. The current interface that you use is more than 10 years old, so it can feel quite outdated. It’s also relying on internal Google technology that will be deprecated soon, so we have to make sure Blogger no longer relies on that.
The new interface is more modern. We’ve worked hard to make it fully responsive so that users can edit their posts both from desktop or mobile devices. As with any new system, it’s not perfect. Over the past year we have been encouraging you all to try it out and leave feedback. This has been (and continues to be!) very helpful. We do a monthly review of all the feedback, which has been helping to bubble up the top issues. Many of the fixes we’ve made have come directly from feedback submitted. We continue to adjust the new interface to help make it as usable as possible.
Much of the feedback recently has been about how we handle images and video. Up until last week, we had been testing out a new image/video technology within the new Blogger interface; however, your feedback made it clear that that piece of technology wasn’t ready to support many of the use cases you need. So, we’re reverting back to the old image/video technology for the time being. This is a temporary solution as this technology will also be going away soon. (This is a common challenge of working on a product that is over 20 years old-- some of the underlying tech no longer runs! Kind of like an old car.) We’ll be working to design and implement an improved image/video technology that is as easy and reliable as the original.
Within the next week, once we’ve reverted back to the old image/video technology, you’ll once again be able to:
- Upload 100’s of images reliably and have them inserted in the selected order
- Access all your images and videos from Google Photos and Youtube
So if you haven’t tried the new Blogger interface, I would encourage you to click the “Try the new Blogger” button and give it a go.

It won’t change the contents or appearance of your blog, and you’ll be able to use the older interface for a while longer. If you like a new feature, or have more feedback for us, “Send feedback” within the product. The more specific you are about the particular problem that you’re encountering, the more likely the team will be able to act on it.

Though we can’t answer individual requests, we do read all feedback, and it helps us a lot. If you have a problem and need help to resolve it, please visit our Blogger Community forum where Blogger Product Experts can help guide answers to many of your questions.
