New Blogger - switching between HTML and Standard editor removes tags and formatting completely, so it is very hard to edit.
Also impossible for old posts editing - they will open in normal editor and once you switch to html, all tags and most of the formatting is gone ... how can I avoid this?

Hi..

Yes this can be a bit annoying, but it would help the Team and let them know by sending in your feedback via the Help icon at your dashboard.

Hopefully they would apply users mosts requested features for easier work flow.

Hi,
I have the same problem. When editing posts, the new Bloggers editor crashes the html code. Especially span markers, picture, source, img and most of microdata.
In my opinion, the editor can't interfere with the code in posts, because it will always cause problems and errors.

It should be like in the old one - if there is an error, some mark is not open/close/crash, it should displays an alert, but not to change a html code.

But the code coloring is cool.

As Wordpress change old editor to the new visual editor, then hundreds of thousands of people installed the plugin to restore the old one. I use it to this day on Wordpress, becouse in Wordpress old editor is much better then new one.

I hope that if they don't change this, they will leave us the opportunity to use the old editor, because on the new one I can't edit posts to avoid crash everyting.

Where to send this feedback? Better in English or in own language?

At the new UI click the Help with the question mark icon and click Send Feedback. Best you send in in English, so the Team could easily understand what the issues/feedback sent and take the appropriate actions if needed.

Hello!

I just wanted to echo very sincerely how much I am impacted by the same problem: "I cannot edit a post in HTML, only the composer."

My workflow is to write a blog post elsewhere as a text file, and run it through a formatter that outputs lovely HTML which includes well formatted code snippets and the like.

There is no way in the new Blogger to use that HTML in the interface - we can only use the Composer.  That's really a shame as it completely breaks my workflow.

Is there a way that "edit as HTML" could be reintroduced please?  If it can't be then I'm (really really sadly) going to have to move my blog elsewhere.  I really don't want to do that as I've really enjoyed using Blogger all these years (my blog started back in 2012).

Please bring back "edit as HTML"!

John

I've just discovered the (very well hidden) edit as HTML mode in the new Blogger.  Great to see it's still there!

I've a couple of requests:

1. Could New Blogger remember the preference to open in HTML mode?  I never want to open in Composer mode
2. Could New Blogger not reformat my HTML please?

Great you've found it John. Your requests is highly echoed out by users here in the forum.

Suggest for you to leave the same feedback by clicking the ? Icon top right of your dashboard. Send Feedback here is actively monitored by the Team.

Hope the Team would consider this & deploy these features.

I am particularly interested in this post as I make extensive use of HTML in my posts. I am therefore worried about trying the new Blogger UI, especially if editing a post always goes into the normal Compose window first. Given that this changes your HTML (and used to before, too) then this should never have got past the testing phase.

I do hope that Google have surveyed what range of HTML is currently employed in blog-posts, and will endeavour to support them in the new UI.

I (and other members with badges) are pretty much clueless too John. For the past weeks or so, we have continuously sending out a lot of feedback for issues and (missing) features for the new blogger UI.

The reasons we know that the Team at least listens to these constructive feedback sent by users.

Some of them have been added recently, and some probably in queue. Like all of us, we are kept off guard too & no roadmap was shared.
