If you purchase a new domain, will you still be able to connect your new to domain to your blog, even though you somehow cannot delete the custom domain on the blog address? The domain on the blog is connected to a domain address that has been deleted--but it's still somehow affixed to the blog, so I'm not able to have it revert back to a blogspot.com format.

Hi Fey Ugokwe Esq ,

Have you tried disconnecting the domain on another browser?

Could you please try in incognito / private window mode and see if that works?

Best,
Nigel

Greetings, Nigel!

Truly appreciating your reply! However, I just tried your suggestions, and sorry to report that none of them worked. When I enter the ‘Settings’ section of my blog—whether in Private Browsing mode, or using a browser other than e.g. Chrome (I used Safari this time),  the following still occurs:

In ‘Settings’, in the ‘Publishing’ section, at ‘Blog Address’, when I click on the ‘x’ next to the custom domain (to delete it and therefore allow reversion back to its .blogspot.com form), a message appears onscreen, which says, ‘Are you sure? This will remove the current custom domain.’ I then click the highlighted ‘OK’ option, and a brief message flashes at the top of the screen in yellow, saying ‘Saving’—and then, nothing happens: the Blog Address section still continues to list my expired custom domain address in the top of the box in that section, with my .blogspot.com at the bottom of the box, with the italicized word ‘redirects’ next to the .blogspot.com address.

If it helps, any other action I try to take in ‘Settings’ for the Blog doesn’t work either—even trying to edit the Description in the ‘Basic’ section: when I click ‘Edit’ and ‘Save changes’, the yellow highlighted word ‘Saving’ appears onscreen—but the ‘Save Changes’ box remains open, so it won’t allow the changes. I have to hit ‘Cancel’ to exit the box, and then a message appears letting me know that the changes made will not be saved.

So, it’s as if the Blog is stuck in some sort of curious, unable-to-be-edited—and thereby, unpublished—limbo.

Also if it helps, my expired custom domain was www.pinkpurseinternational.com and my blogspot that I’m trying to direct the site back to is pinkpurseinternational.blogspot.com

Any ideas, given the specificity above?

Fey
