Create a new blog from a previous blog

Created a blog for a trip we took several years ago.  Took me hours and hours to format as it was the first time.  We are going on another trip and I want to copy the old blog for all the formatting and just replace the text and photos.  I don't want to try to create a new blog from scratch.  Is there a way to copy the old blog and rename it?  I don't want to possibly lose the original https://paulandnancy2013trip.blogspot.com/.  I've looked up my questions, but haven't found an answer that addresses what exactly I want to do.  Thank you.

Hi N,

Yes, however the option is now on a orange drop-down menu on Theme, not at upper right.

Make a note of where the backup downloads the theme file to your PC.

Then start a new blog and import the file. That option is on the same menu. It is called "restore," but don't worry about that.

Hello N,

"Copy and rename it." Why would you want to do both?

You can rename the blog, and delete the posts, if you do not care about them any more.

Or, you can download the blog theme, create a new blog, and import the saved theme. Then start blogging.

This is of course creating "a new blog from scratch," but it is straightforward and preserves your original blog.

If you do both, you will have two identical blank blogs.

Thanks for responding.  I want to keep the old blog https://paulandnancy2013trip.blogspot.com/.  I want to create a new blog named paulandnancy2021trip.  I want the columns, widgets, headers, footers etc. placements to  be the same as on the old blog.  I don't want to have to add, delete, or move them around i.e. create from scratch.  Will downloading the old blog theme and importing it do that?  If yes, are these the steps I would follow?
Save a copy of your blog's theme
  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. At the top left, click the blog you want to save.
  3. In the left menu, click Theme.
  4. At the top right, click More   Backup  Download.
Then what? Start my new blog and somehow import the theme?  Thanks again.  (I'm 70 years old now - I don't have the patience anymore, or the interest I used to have in conquering a piece of software, lol).

Thanks! That worked pretty well.  Some things are different probably because my original was set up 8 years ago, but I can work with this.
Thanks, N! Glad to know it is sorted.
