Manage your blog's comments

You can manage who can comment and what kind of comments readers can leave on your blog posts.

Option 1: Turn on comment moderation

You can decide how often you'd like to moderate comments left on your blog. if you'd like to always, sometimes, or never manage readers' comments.

  1. Sign in at blogger.com.
  2. Select the blog you want to make changes to.
  3. On the left side of the page, click Settings > Posts and comments.
  4. In the "Comment Moderation"" section, select Always, Sometimes, or Never.

Look at your comments that need moderation

If you turn on comment moderation, the comments you get will go to an "Awaiting moderation" page.

Here's how to see the comments that are awaiting moderation:

  1. Sign in at blogger.com.
  2. Select the blog you want to make changes to.
  3. On the left side of the page, click Comments > Awaiting moderation.
  4. From here, you have the option to approve the comment, delete the comment, or mark it as spam.
Manage your comments over email

If you entered an email address for managing comments, you'll get a message each time someone writes a new comment.

From the message, click Publish or Reject.

Option 2: Ask for a verification code

To prevent automated software from posting spam comments on your blog, you can ask visitors to enter a short code before they can post.

  1. Sign in to blogger.com
  2. On the left side of the page, click Settings > Posts and comments.
  3. Next to "Show word verification," select Yes.

Note: Even if you don't turn this setting on, anonymous commenters may still be asked to enter a code before posting. This helps protect your blog from abuse.
