Auction packages

Learn how to create and manage your auction packages

An auction package is a collection of open auction inventory specified by targeting criteria set by you or other buyer accounts. While you can create an auction package yourself, you also have the option of subscribing to packages created by other buyers or Google sales teams.

Auction packages allow buyers to:

  • Package quality inventory that can be easily shared across multiple buyers, spanning DSPs.
  • Target using a large selection of criteria, including some Real-Time Bidding (RTB) signals that may not have been integrated by demand-side platforms (DSPs).
  • Target multiple public Marketplace packages.

Each auction package will be assigned an ID that is exposed as a deal ID in RTB callout. Note that although auction package inventory is bid on using the Deal ID, bids will compete directly with open auction bids from other buyers. Auction packages should be targeted the same way open auction inventory is targeted because pretargeting configurations set up to only receive deals inventory won't receive requests from auction package inventory.

Direct: Authorized sellers that directly own the inventory being monetized, as indicated by a DIRECT declaration in the respective ads.txt or app-ads.txt file.

Reseller: Authorized sellers that do not directly own the inventory being monetized, as indicated by a RESELLER declaration in the respective ads.txt or app-ads.txt file.

Even though the Auction Package is targeting a specific URL, not all the available traffic with that particular URL will have the Auction Package ID (deal ID). Only a part of it will have the Auction Package ID to allow the buyer to bid on it.

Based on the bidding activity, this inventory with Auction Package ID (deal ID) will increase and then they can start to see more inventory with Auction Package ID (deal ID). Otherwise, the minimum inventory assigned to the Auction Package will have the deal ID
