You might see three types of messages in your Authorized Buyers account: alerts, announcements, and notifications. We send them to keep you informed about your account and new Authorized Buyers features. We'll describe the three types of messages and show you how to turn off the optional messages.
Difference between alerts, announcements, and notifications
Marketplace > Discovery opens by default when you sign into your Authorized Buyers account. Google Alerts and Announcements may display on the Discovery page, while Alerts may also appear on the Billing tabs. You receive Notifications by email.
Here are the types of messages you might see and what they tell you:
Type of message | What it's used for | Where it appears | Example uses |
---|---|---|---|
Alerts |
- Important messages to help keep your account active and running - Messages about potential problems to fix |
- In red at the top of a tab - Together with announcements in a section on the left of your Home tab - In the "Messages" section at the top of each tab |
- If your ads aren't running - If your billing information needs to be updated - If a negative keyword is blocking a positive keyword |
Announcements |
Product-related messages to let you know about Authorized Buyers updates. These might not apply to everyone and are usually not critical to keeping your account running. |
- At the top of each page |
An announcement of a new feature to help you better track your ads |
Notifications |
Optional messages to keep you updated on the performance of your account |
Either in your account or by email |
An email with performance reports about a certain ad campaign |
How to set your alert and notification preferences
-
Sign in to Authorized Buyers.
-
Click Admin Notifications.
- Toggle to activate or deactivate notifications.
You can't turn off critical alerts about billing, disapproved ads, and campaign maintenance. You can select a setting so these don't show in your Authorized Buyers account, but you'll still get an email with this information.
