Agencies can now work directly with curation partners in their Agency Seat and can target data segments or curated auction packages.
Activating curation in Agency Seats has the following benefits:
- Saves time by applying data segment targeting to single deal ID for all DSPs integrated with agency deals.
- Targeting data on the SSP level can result in increased data segment match rates.
- Provides more accurate forecasting based on true publisher availability.
- Reports on spend against data segment targeting across all eligible DSPs.
- No additional billing workflow or costs: fee to data provider is taken out of the bid price.
Note: Before using curation, agencies must accept the terms and conditions.
- Log in to your Agency Seat.
- Go to Account Settings, and then turn on "Activate curation."
- Click Terms and conditions, and then Accept.
There are three main functions of curation:
- Add a data segment to an Auction package
- Subscribe to a curated Auction package
- Add a data segment to publisher deals
1. Add a data segment to an Auction package
Create an auction package that targets a data segment.
- Log in to your Agency Seat.
- Go to Marketplace, then Auction packages, and then click Create an Auction Package.
- Click Data segments.
Only one Data segment can be added. - Select a provider from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the segment ID.
- Click Add segment.
2. Subscribe to curated Auction package
- Log in to your Agency Seat.
- Go to Marketplace, and then Auction packages.
- Click Subscribe to an Auction Package.
- Enter the Deal ID to see deal metadata including name and pricing.
- Scroll down and click Subscribe.
Note: Once you are subscribed to a curated deal, within the Auction Package tab, the deal shows as "created by" by a curator.
Once the Auction Package is subscribed to, the agency needs to instruct DSPs to buy by applying spend to the Deal ID within the DSP user interface.
3. Add data segments to publisher deals
- Log in to your Agency Seat.
- Go to "Negotiations."
- Click a Proposal name to open an existing proposal.
- Click Propose changes.
- Click on the deal name to open the deal.
- Go to "Targeting."
- Click Data segments.
Only one Data segment can be added. - Select a provider from the dropdown menu and "Enter a Segment ID."
- Click Add segment.
- Click Apply.
- Click Send proposal and then click Send proposal in the dialog box.
Fee payments to curation partners
Partners input their fee per segment or curated auction package. The agency can see this in the user interface when they select the data segment or curated package they wish to use. The agency doesn’t pay anyone directly, as Google manages fee payments out of the bid price and pays the curation partner.
Reporting
The agency can report on data segments and curation partner fees in the reporting tool using the “Data segment” and "Curation partner fees" dimensions.
