After your TV Meter is delivered, follow these instructions to set it up. Set up one TV Meter for every TV watched in your home. If you need additional TV Meters, contact Support to have more sent to you.
Unpack your TV Meter and its power cord.
Put the TV Meter as close to the TV as possible, and not covered up or in a cabinet.
The TV Meter needs to hear the TV clearly so it can work, and people watching TV will need to see the screen while they’re watching TV.
Plug the power cord into the TV Meter and into the wall.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the internet and complete the installation.
You’re all done when you can see your name in a square on the screen. The TV Meter will say “Listening for the TV” at the bottom of the screen. The TV Meter listens to all nearby audio, but only can recognize sounds that it knows about from TV shows and advertising. TV Meters also come with a camera, but that camera isn’t used, and doesn’t collect data. Some cameras have been covered with a privacy sticker. If your TV Meters don’t have stickers, and you would like them, please contact support.
The TV Meter should stay plugged in and powered on at all times, but you can turn off the microphone if you have guests or other non-panelists who don’t want the TV Meter on. While the microphone is off, the TV Meter won’t be able to recognize what’s on TV, and can’t give you points for using the TV Meter.
