Changing the SSID network name and Wi-Fi password

For security reasons, you may choose to change your network's name (SSID) and password. Follow the steps below to make these changes:

  1. Sign in to wireless router in your web browser through this page:  http://myrouter.local

  2. Enter the router administration password that you created during the initial router setup.

  3. From the menu on the left-hand side, select Connectivity.

  4. On the Basic tab find the Network Name and Password section and click Edit.

  5. Change the network name and password for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz sections.

  6. Click Apply.

The router will save the settings and you might have to reconnect to the new name for your wireless network.

TIP: When creating a password, a combination of letters, numbers and symbols at least 8 characters long is highly recommended. Example: Hawaii4me2019!  Remember that the most secure passwords are the longest passwords.
