I'm getting a "Sorry there was an error for [device name}" every time I try to control a device.

I have been having this issue recently where I would attempt to control a device with my Google Home, but upon issuing the command, I would receive an error along the lines of "Sorry there was an error for the [device name]".

I did not receive this error until recently. This followed disconnecting and reconnecting my SmartThings account and then reconnecting it to Google Home. I did this because a device I'd recently added was not showing up.

I originally assumed that it was an issue with the SmartThings integration, but after some standard troubleshooting, I found that the features function perfectly well with assistant on my android phone.

This is leaving me unable to easily control most of the devices in my because 90% of the things in my house are controlled over SmartThings and Google Home. I am now forced to use my phone in order to do simple things like turn on my lights.

If anyone has any suggestions for remediating this issue, I'm defiantly open to any responses.

I had this same problem. After speaking with Google they suggested saying "Hey Google, sync my devices." This worked. All of my devices are back to normal. Definitely try this.

In my case the problem was, that I had another home member added.
When i removed my devices/account, i could still see 3 devices, no way to delete them. It were exactly the 3 devices, that stopped working before.
When i removed them on the phone of home member, they were gone for good. Apart from that i invited home member again and added everything again... and it works.
