Hello, thanks for taking the time to post your issue.

To turn Beep ON

Open Android Settings > Accessibility > slide ON Switch Access > tap on Allow > tap on Exit

To turn Beep OFF

Open Android Settings > Accessibility > slide OFF Switch Access > device will vibrate.

If you have Google Nest/Home devices;

On your Android phone > Google Home app > select your Mini device > select Cog wheel icon > Accessibility > slide BOTH buttons to right to turn ON audio options.

I've already tried that after doing a Google search.  It still does not beep to let me know when ok google is activated

I have the same issue.  I use this all the time to find my phone.  It looks like they've removed it completely.  The "Accessibility" hack doesn't work either

New Google Assistant does not have beep or vibrate. "Accessibility" can't help.

Since when did this change?  It's so frustrating.  It worked for me as I went to Settings>Accessibility >Installed Services and set antivirus to ON. But what's the connection? It also works if I set anything else to ON, so I set antivirus to OFF and put Phone companion to ON. Even in this case google beeped when I said Hey Google. But again what's the connection?  Can't you just add this beep feature within the settings please?

HERE IS A WORKING FIX - Google's "fix" has NEVER worked for anyone at my company (on hundreds of Android phones I support)

I love that when this question is asked EVER SINGLE DAY my MULTIPLE USERS, who all state ahead of time, "I have tried the suggestions, i have tried switch access, it does not fix the issue", that google REPEATS THE SAME NON-FIXING "SOLUTION".

I have this issue every 3-4 days lately, and have had the issue recurringly for the psat year, Google support has been ABSOLUTELY ZERO HELP with this problem.

Here is a fix that DOES ACTUALLY WORK (but not permanent):

This fix is easy to do, but you may have to repeat once every week or two (which for me it is WELL WORTH doing)

  1.  First search your apps for "Assistant" - if it is installed you must Uninstall it first
  2. Locate the "Google " app in your list of Applications in "Settings "
  3. At the Info Screen for the app, click on the " . . . " button in the top right
  4. On the menu from the "..." click Uninstall Updates
  5. Relaunch the "Google" application and in its "Voice" settings, turn on "OK Google"

This will fix the issue. The switch-access fix has not worked for me one single time. This fix has kept the app beeping when say "Ok/Hey Google" for months at a time, but weeks at a time.

If you need further help, give up on Google support and look to maybe Reddit or random forums on the web - all google does is Copy/Paste scripted fails into their support forums.
