How can I make a note in Evernote? 0 Recommended Answers 8 Replies 11 Upvotes

I'd like to be able to create a note in Evernote using the voice command "take a note in Evernote". The Evernote app is installed and setup. When I issue the command, it defaults to using the Google assistant note taking capability. Strangely, if I first use Google assistant to search "using Google assistant with Evernote" and then say "take a note in Evernote" as a second command, the note is saved in Evernote as expected.

Currently there is not a Evernote action at https://assistant.google.com/explore?hl=en

I use the free version of ToDoist with Google Assistant and Google Calendar for my reminders.

AND
select Send To Device for your device(s).

You may find Carl Pullein's many Youtube videos about ToDoist helpful. Example:

When I tell Google assistant to take a note in Evernote, it does not do so at all, but instead does a search and shows me a matching video. I have not found any way around this behavior.

My research concludes that this feature has been removed from Google Assistant.

But this thread revealed a good-enough solution using IFTTT: https://ifttt.com/applets/482767p-create-a-note-in-evernote-using-google-assistant

Here's a direct link to the applet: https://ifttt.com/applets/482767p-create-a-note-in-evernote-using-google-assistant

Personally, I wasn't a bit fan of the jamisonross applet. But there are couple more that work and I shose one of those.

Saving notes to Evernote works through the Google Voice Search by saying "make a note" or "note to self". It asks which app you'd like to use, you select Evernote, then it defaults to Evernote every time.

Just upgraded from Samsung S6 to S10e. Used to be able to have Google Assistant save "notes to self" to Evernote, but no more...and none of the suggested ways I've read so far have worked. Also, GA says it's saved a note when I ask it to (w/out mentioning Evernote), but I can't find the note afterward. Now I'm going to have to use a Voice Recorder app on my phone, which is distracting when driving. Not happy.

I tried this just now. "Make a note" does not work. "Note to self" worked one time, asking me to select an app and creating a note in Evernote when I selected it. Trying it again fails, however, and "note to self" like "make a note" and any other "note" command defaults to Google Assistant's own rinky-dink notes function. (You find them by tapping the "What are my notes?" button.)

There is a thread on this in the Evernote forums, about the same age as this one. IMHO, GA has been programmed to explicitly filter out Evernote commands, since Evernote would be the competition. It's hard to explain otherwise why a few people a few times can get it to work, but mostly it doesn't.

There is now a Google Assistant action for Evernote!

Discover Google Assistant Actions for your supported devices.
Search for Evernote
When you visit an action search result, select READ MORE select LINK if offered and Send To Device for each device and test action on your mobile or Google Nest device.

Just tried it and "No results for "Evernote""
The Google search app works though, not the Assistant.
Using Voice Search and saying "Make a note" creates a note in Evernote.
