Google assistant acknowledgement sound stopped working. 0 Recommended Answers 3 Replies 5 Upvotes

Since whatever update Google has made to the assistant, when activating it on my Samsung Note 10+ there is no longer an acknowledgement sound (beep). This happened a about a month ago and I messed around with settings and advice on here and it just seemed to randomly work again. Now it's back to just vibrating when activated.

I have tried every single option I've read moth on here and given by others but it still hasn't returned.

I've unistalled both Google app and Assistant app. I've set it back up from scratch and followed all instructions I've read here. The device has been turned off and on again SEVERAL times. Nothing works.

I don't even know why it's stopped working and it's incredibly frustrating as some of the advice given discusses that aren't on my phone or assistant app at all. I'm really at a loss. And no I can't just leave it as I have a disability and this acknowledgement sound is vital to me on a voice assistant. I need it back or I'll have to use another assistant.

I have seen others with this issue and it's clearly a big somewhere which I want fixed.

Please advise on how to solve this and no generic solutions that are already on here as I've tried them and some don't even work on my phone.

I'm running Android 10 on a Samsung Note 10+. All apps have auto update and are updated. Accessibility installed services are all switched on. Language selected was UK but is now US.

Please respond with viable solutions only please or at least tell me what the hell is going with this. I've come to rely heavily on assistant and this bug is intolerable.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to post your issue.

To turn Beep ON

Open Android Settings > Accessibility > slide ON Switch Access > tap on Allow > tap on Exit

To turn Beep OFF

Open Android Settings > Accessibility > slide OFF Switch Access > device will vibrate.

If you have Google Nest/Home devices;

On your Android phone > Google Home app > select your Mini device > select Cog wheel icon > Accessibility > slide BOTH buttons to right to turn ON audio options.

My god. You really don't read the questions at all do you?

As stated in numerous other threads of a similar vein. The options you state DO NOT exist on the Samsung Note 10 or many other devices either.

Just read you're own forum man. I'm not an employee and it takes me about 30 seconds to figure this out.

There is no on or off switch under accessibility. It just shows you system services which I've already switched on and off several times.

For the love of christ just stop with the generic answers and actually pick up a Samsung device and look for yourself. Someone you know must have one.

You've removed this sound with no thought to who it will effect or how to actually bring it back. I have checked this forum and others for weeks trying to find a solution to this. I also mentioned in my post that I've tried ALL repeat ALL the suggestions you and others have made in this forum. Unlike you I've actually read all the questions and replies.

Nothing works. And the options you're giving me don't exist on my phone. I've literally tried every suggestion that's been given on verous forums and social media.

I know it's possible to bring the sound back because it has came back randomly and dissappeared again. There must be a solution out there.

FYI the assistant update has also rendered it useless in the shield TV but that's a whole other thread I suppose.

Please raise this issue higher up. Get someone with a Note 10 and go to accessibility settings and see for yourself. Myself and others aren't lying to you. The recommendations you give don't exist period.

Please find a proper solution and make sure your reply considers the phone I'm using. And yes I've checked with Samsung as well but this isn't their problem it's yours.
