When I open the routines, click on one, and go to 'Adjust lights plugs and more' I can see all my lights and plugs that I've added. But when I click the 'on/off/do not change' drop down menu and change the setting, the device never saves. I can't set my lights to turn on at the start of a routine.

Having a similar issue here.  When I even try to have it turn a light off/on I can't get it to not stay at "Don't Change".  I want to switch platforms from Amazon to Google for the house, but this is holding me back,

@admins - what’s going on with this, without the lights the routines are almost worthless.

Same issue, routines not saving, it worked a week ago, only upgrade I did was Google wifi mesh, and that is being returned. Did the mesh try and take control of all Google devices?!?

I had this issue today, turns out it was my own fault as I’d given two lights the same name and it confused the system. Renamed and all good.

Same issue but working around it by creating multiple commands. Or.. command Turn off "name of device"

I started having this issue as well 2 days ago.  I have even unlinked accounts, deleted devices and added them back.  This is becoming aggravating.

I'm having the same issue as well but its not saving a custom "say something" I hit save then come back and it's gone. It looks like anything outside of the default commands don't save

I should note only experiencing the issue in the alarm routine, I can create routines in the assistant settings section and save custom commands no issue, but as soon as I save in alarms it disappears. You should be able to chose saved routines for alarm options it shouldn't be a separate routine command that's all buggy, frustrating and defeats the whole purpose of routines

Same issue with alarm routines...what gives?!?

Relevant Answer
Yep. Accidentally deleted my alarm which was working (finger slipped I guess - or it deleted itself 🤷‍♂️) but I haven't been able to recreate it because the damn things won't save

I am having the same issue with my alarm routines not saving, but I can save routines from Google Assistant. I agree that you should be able to select pre-existing routines from the alarm settings instead of creating special routines for each alarm.

Pixel 3XL same issue. Not hardware specific, OS?

Relevant Answer
Same issue here, Pixel 3XL, too.  In my case it's my "Good Morning" routine, in which I selected play News briefs.  In the weeks leading up to it, I found that one news source stopped marking itself as "read" after playing, resulting in me hearing the same story every day for almost a month so far.

Seems to be two devices having exactly the same name. I made one "Lamp" and one "Lamp 2" and it now works as expected.
