Can no longer ask Google questions via Bluetooth in car?
Hi,
I used to be able to ask the Google Assistant
questions (like what's the weather or what's the traffic on my way to
work) from my car's Bluetooth, but it recently stopped working. I press
the Bluetooth button (on the steering wheel) which activates the Google
Assistant and it makes the normal bing noise indicating the phone is
waiting for verbal input. I ask a question and then nothing happens,
almost like it doesn't hear anything. After a few seconds (much quicker than normal) it makes the
second "timeout" bing noise. The strange thing is, some functions still
work - like I can dictate text messages or ask Google to read my text
messages, or I can have it save a reminder, or make a call, all via the button in the car over Bluetooth. So the core assistant functions continue to work but for more general questions there's no response? I'm using a Samsung S6 (yes, I need a new phone) and the car is a BMW.
Has anyone else noticed a similar issue? I would say this stopped
working after an update to the app maybe 2-4 weeks ago.Community content may not be verified or up-to-date. Learn more.
