Everything was fine until that latest Android update (Pie).
Now whenever I say any of the Google Assistant prompts ("Okay Google or Hey Google"), my car radio "mutes" and none of the Google Assistant responses are heard.
I'm driving along, connected to the radio in my 2015 Subaru Forester, using Android Auto and listening to a song on Google Play Music. Before the Pie update, if I said, "Hey Google... Text my wife via Hangouts," Google Assistant would say "Okay, what's the message?". From there I would dictate the message I'd like sent to my wife and Google Assistant would confirm the message before asking to send it.
AFTER the Pie update, whenever I say any of the Google Assistant prompts, the music on Google Play Music *pauses*, which in turn MUTES my radio. So now whenever Google Assistant talks back to my queries, my radio is still *muted* and now of the Google Assistant audio is heard through the radio.
I've tested this numerous times, and it isn't just Google Assistant used in connection with Android Auto, it's Google Assistant all the time over Bluetooth audio connections.
Obviously, this makes "hands-free" driving not a thing anymore.
Severely disappointed in this latest Android update.
