Hey Annette Deguch, thanks for reaching out to Google Assistant Help Community.

I am very sorry to let you know that accessing or managing your Cookbooks on Google Assistant enabled smart displays are now deprecated. You can see the detailed announcement here.

At this point the best thing you can do is send feedback directly to the Google team by saying "Hey Google, send feedback". Hope they take necessary decisions on this.

Kind regards.

Yes the whole reason I bought this thing was for the recipes and cooking hands-free

My bookmarked My Receipes has also disappeared!  Was not given notice and it should be backed up somewhere so would appreciate being answered.

Please bring my cookbook back on Google home hub!!!!!!!

I loved that feature!  I had receipts on there that I don’t have anywhere else.  Not in my wildest dreams did I think that google would make them disappear😩 Done with google!!! So disappointed!

Absolutely disgusted by this. This is the main feature I use on my hub. I have spent years building up my cookbook with recipes and now it’s gone. No notice, no explanation, they just nuke a key feature.

You can’t even use the worthless piece of junk to view a recipe using the web browser as it times out and disappears from the screen.

What a complete joke.

Thank you! My daughter has made it into a baking competition final and has to use the same recipe that she did in the heats. Guess where the recipe was saved?

So glad we managed to get it back or we would have been really struggling. Absolutely no help from Google at all. Again, thank you!

As Google continues killing all the features I use on products and wanting me to watch more ads and fork over more money to have less reliability and features, I'm learning Google is becoming a company I no longer wish to do business with. I'm going to pull all of my Google Homes around my house (I have 6). I work with Google products for work all day every day and we're even changing our customers away from Google on those as quickly as we can too. I didn't realize how much I relied on being able to pull up digital recipes in my kitchen because I've been using this feature for nearly a decade. For it to just be gone has killed my productivity and any faith I still had in Google. This is the final straw for me. Even looking at switching away from Android to just get away from what Google has become.

I agree with all the other post (GOOGLE STINKS) I cannot retrieve  my receipes, my Device will not connect to web browser for more information, I can’t verbally upload items to my shopping list. The only thing my Device is good for is spell check and the weather. It will not allow me to upload docs  response is I’m full with only 2 docs showing. What is your IT department doing. 😡

Very upset that I can no longer get my Cookbook on my nest. I have my nest  in  my kitchen so I could cook, listen to music & view photos in the same place.

Maybe I need to look at a new device

Not having recipes is lousy! There's no point in having this device in the kitchen anymore. The nytimes literally had a massive positive write up on this feature. It's crazy how one stupid change by Google pushes me to let an Alexa into my ecosystem.

Alexa showed up today! Previously had 8 Google devices, now 7 plus kitchen Alexa.

How can we get our money back for the Nest Hub that we bought under the advertisment that it supports recipies. What is the official process / point of contact to get the refund and return the Nest products?

I am very disappointed to find that Google did this. I'm not sure why, but that was one of the main reasons I purchased the Google hub Max. Now when I ask for a recipe it does go to the Google browser. However, when I open some of them from the link, I can't read them because the Page displayed is mostly dark and the font is dark as well...?

Even though I can find a recipe on my phone and cast it to the hub max, it's not the same. I still have to utilize my phone. Utter nonsense..

Even lately the Google Assistant doesn't understand what is asked and I have to speak extra slow, and I don't speak fast to begin with, and it is very frustrating.

The hub Max and I have nest doorbell, and quite a few minis. Because I liked Google over Alexa, years ago. But now I am wandering about my decision.
I am not sure if Google's employee force has decreased so much that they had to decrease what their AI abilities are able to do, and that is why they got rid of the recipes capability.

Come on Google, show us you're the leader and better than Amazon's Alexa AI!

More and more features are dissappearing my cookbook, games, video messages and so forth. Very disappointing because these features were the reason I bought Google Hub. If these features are offered on Alexa, then I am abandoning GooglevHub for Alexa.

Exactly!!  Bait and switch tactics by Google.  Now I have a Hub Max is not able to do what it used to

This is becoming such typical Google BS. Getting rid of features and functions. Every day it seems like Google has more MBAs and fewer engineers make decisions.

I agree- not cool!

So what happened to the recipes I had saved in Google Cookbook?  I really liked that I could ask my assistant to save recipes and display them on my Google Hub Max

Your recipes are still "saved" in a "Collection" called "Cookbook". Access it through https://www.google.com/interests/saved

It seems like the cookbook is read-only which means it's not possible to add recipes to the "official" cookbook.

I always search for 'google saved' and I eventually figure out how to access it. There has to be a better solution!

Another thing I've done is taken my recipe links and saved them at archive.org so that the contents won't just disappear (I once lost my children's favourite kruidnootjes recipe and managed to get it back through some luck and a lot of persistence from an ancient archive I'd made).

PS You may be able to access collections via the Google app on a cell phone (but, since I hate the Google app I never use it).
