Google doesn't understand what I say

Whenever I talk to the Google assistant on my android, if the command isn't simple, suh as 'What is the weather like', Google Assitant response with 'Sorry, I didn't understand'. For example, if I ask about the lottery numbers for last night, Google doesn't understand what it is that I'm saying. The Google Assistant app is up to date so I don't think that it's that. I could try a factory reset but I don't know if that will help and I also don't want to lose photographs on my phone.
