Google Home no Longer responding to Light Commands Phillips Hue

This morning tried to turn on lights in my kitchen, family room, living room and other rooms which are setup in the google home app linked thru Phillips Hue.  The google devices in my home now respond they don't understand however on the google displays I can see it shows the lights.  I can manually hit the button on the google display and turn them on.  On the non display google devices they just say they don't understand. Also my cell phone is advising of the same thing not understanding  when asking to turn on lights in rooms.

Paul Inman 9936 and others.  This morning I am now able to use the word light or lights again in my requests via voice to Google Assistant. Is it working for you as well? One thing you and I had in common is we were using integrations from hubs if I remember correctly. I was using Samsung SmartThings and you use Philips Hue.  Perhaps the others responding to this thread are using a hub as well? Just curious. I hope this is working again for everyone.

I forgot to add I had not done any additional troubleshooting including restarting the network. I just referred to the bulbs by name without the word light and waited until today.  I would suspect a change was made on the server side.

The same issue began for me last night.  I an using the integration with Samsung Smartthings. I found I can no longer use the words "light" or "lights" in my voice interactions with any Google Assistant on any Google mini or hub device as well as my Pixel phone.  Where previously I said "turn on hallway lights" to turn on both light now I must say "turn on hallway".  This could cause issues with other devices in the room called hallway"  The two lights are named "Hallway light 1" and "Hallway light 2".  To address them individually I must now say "Turn on hallway 1".  You might try these to see if they work for you.  In my opinion this is a regression of Google Assistant capabilities and should be reverted.  Google should respect how we name our devices and use them as entered.

I am having the same issue. I tried what was mentioned and said "set kitchen to 30 percent" instead of "kitchen lights", and that worked. But, I can't turn all lights on, off, set to a percentage, or set to colors with voice at once, and it's obnoxious. Tried syncing devices, restarting them, relinking Hue...nothing works.

Hello, i have the same issue.in the same house it is ok for my wife that i have invited to pilot equipment but not for me... What Can i do?

Okay.  GH is not understanding "light" or "lights" BUT it understands "Lamp".
So try substituting Lamp for Light.

Thanks Ben.  I will try those suggestions as well.  What's odd about all this the other person that responded on this thread said he started having problems with it Tuesday night which is also when I had problems with it but didn't start looking into it until yesterday.  It makes me think maybe they rolled out a software update which could have caused this since it is affecting not just the hubs but also the mini's and speakers and even my cell phone.

Hi, Paul Inman 9936,

Sure, there is a possibility that an update is being rolled out but one still needs to look at all methods to try. I have no hands-on access to your home automation so only suggestions can be offered to try.

From my past experience, I have occasionally had odd scenarios and was just patient and found it to begin work fine again.

I would also suggest you send feedback directly to the Google Team via the Home app.

Although the product team is unable to respond to individual users directly, they review this feedback regularly and use it to help improve the product over time.

This is recommended to all users experiencing this issue. The more who report this issue the better :)

Thank you for your feedbeck.
