When I request Google Assistant to play Release Radar playlist it plays a track called release radar

I have been listening to Release Radar on Spotify for several years now without issue by saying "OK/Hey Google, play Release Radar".

Recently it will only play the track "releaseradar" by December Sixth which is not what I want at all.

I have similar issues when asking Google to play Daily Mix 1/2/3 etc and Discover Weekly.

If I use Alexa there are no issues and my Spotify personal playlists always play on Echo devices.

I have "reached out" several times to Spotify and they don't want to help, just saying I should contact Google.

This issue seem to really be a Google issue, I'm in the same boat, everything works fine with Bixby, just Google AI seems to have broken.

I spent 2.5 hours on support with Spotify and agree that this issue seems to be tied to Google's ability to map your request to available playlist options. When I ask for my personal playlist I'll often get an album with a similar name even though I've asked using the "my" keyword and used the "playlist"keyword as well.

Google assistant had been working perfectly for many years and this recognition issue only started in November.

Please start a new conversation on the Nest speakers/displays product forum about your Spotify issue

IMO this is most likely where the issue lives (Assistant) - lots of user reporting this in many support forums (Nest, Spotify, Assistant) but no real action being taken, only finger-pointing.

someone PLEASE escalate this ticket - phone support is not working & no perceivable action is being taken

I agree this is where the issue lies, I can't replicate it on an Echo dot I borrowed. Some blame lies with Spotify for allowing public playlists or albums to have keywords that should be restricted but if Alexa can pick the correct thing 100% of the time, Why can't google pick the right thing even 10% of the time?

I suspect the AI now has the "wrong" playlists weighted heavily as wanted since everyone is getting them, so it thinks that's what we all want now.  Someone needs to give it a poke with a sharp stick and get it working again and hopefully it'll stay working.

Same issue here, I've been following the various threads for the better part of a week. More than half of my commands to Google home are just requests for these various Spotify playlists. Considering most of Amazon's Alexa based products are on sale this time of year, I may cut my losses since it seems this issue is in finger pointing limbo.

Issue seems to be fixed for me today (have been testing daily). Could anyone else confirm this is now resolved for them?
