Hey Google unlock the door. Can I have security code? "1234". "5th street Victoria is 4 km away"..? 0 Recommended Answers 13 Replies 29 Upvotes

I have an August Pro 3 door lock; it worked perfectly for 3 weeks then all of a sudden google assistant will not complete the Unlock command after I give my security code; it returns a search result instead.
If I ask Hey Google how far away is 5th street Victoria BC? I get the same answer.
But here is what is said: Hey google unlock the door. Can I have your code? 1234. 5th street victoria bc is 4 km away.
WTF is going on? Why does it think I"m asking about this address and ignoring my security code?

Somehow this issue resolved itself; when I tried it today, 24 hours later, it worked fine multiple times; weird.

It's not ismartgates issue.  Since it's working with ifttt and everything else except Google assistant.
It ask about a security code which is then provided and it does a Google search about that number instead of applying it as a code that it prompted for.

I have a similar issue with my Smart WiFi Garage Door Opener Remote Controller by Aubric. It was working great, then all of a sudden when I give the "open door" or "close door" command, Google Assistant asks for a security code which I don't have. I used the fingerprint security instead of a security code to activate unit. If I ask for the door's status like "is door closed" or "is door open" it works 100% with asking for a security code.
I have rebooted my phone and unlinked and re-linked  the controller unit. The controller is interfaced to the phone via the Smart Life app. All apps are up-to-date. All diagnostics have run to successful completion.

Any further advice?

I received this from the seller of my unit, Cool Auto:

"Thanks for your email. This is a technical upgrade for the security of voice control. A code is required for opening the garage via voice command. Please do not worry, simply do as the following guide to set the code. Please go to Smart Life App, chose "Me" >"Settings" > "Clear Cache".  Then choose this garage door, it will show an update. Click the red bell icon, and find "Set password ". Now set a 4 digit code for Google Home to open the garage door. "

It now works!

How do I set the security code on Google Assistant or Google Home? I can't find the option. When I try to say the 4 digit code to Google assistant, it returns a search.
