You can set, repeat, and delete reminders with Google Assistant.
Tips:
- Reminders might be restricted or blocked if you use Digital Wellbeing tools like Downtime or Filters.
- You can also create, check, and edit Google Reminders.
Set up reminders
- To use reminders on a shared Google Assistant device, like a speaker or Smart Display: Turn on Personal Results and set up Voice Match.
- To use reminders with your family: Each family member must turn on Personal Results and set up Voice Match.
Create a reminder
Important: The option to create reminders for a certain location is going away soon. You can still create reminders at a certain time and set routines for a location.
From Google Assistant
You can ask Google Assistant to set a reminder for you. For example, you can say:
- "Hey Google, set a reminder."
- "Hey Google, remind me to call Mom at noon tomorrow."
From the Web
To create a reminder in a web browser, go to Google Reminders and click Create .
Check your reminders
From Google Assistant
You can ask the Google Assistant to tell you about your reminders.
For example, you can say:
- “Hey Google, what are my reminders?”
- “OK Google, open reminders.”

To see a list of all the reminders you created, visit Google Reminders from a browser.

Assign a reminder to someone
Important: This feature will go away soon. You can still assign tasks in Google Chat or Gmail.
You can assign reminders to:
- Members in your Google Family Group. Learn how to manage your family on Google.
- Anyone who signs in to the same Google Assistant-enabled device as you. Learn how to link your voice to your devices with Voice Match and share devices in your home.
For example, you can say:
- "Hey Google, remind Ryan to load the dishwasher every day at 8 pm."
- "Hey Google, remind Tom to get a latte when he’s at Starbucks."
When you assign a reminder to someone, they get notifications on their device if they're signed in to the Google Assistant app. Both you and the person you assign a reminder to can edit or delete the reminder at any time.

Control who can assign a reminder to you
You can choose who can assign reminders to you. You can block or unblock people at any time.
Google Assistant on your phone
- On your Android phone or tablet, say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings."
- Under "All settings," tap Assignable reminders.
- Choose who can assign reminders to you.
Check reminders for you
You can ask Google Assistant to tell you about reminders you have for the day.
For example, you can say:
- “Hey Google, what are my reminders from Dave?”
Check reminders you made for others
You can ask Google Assistant about reminders you assign to other people. For example, you can say:
- “Hey Google, what reminders have I sent to Katie?”
- “Hey Google, show me the reminders for Bill.”
- “Hey Google, show me the reminders completed by Molly."
Edit a reminder
You can edit an assigned reminder’s details, like the time it's due or the assignee. For example, you can say:
- “Hey Google, show the next reminder for Ellie.” “Hey Google, change it to 5 pm.”
If you edit a reminder you assign to someone else, they get a notification.
Delete a reminder
You can delete a reminder you made for someone else. For example, you can say:
- “Hey Google, delete the reminder for Elizabeth.”
If you delete a reminder you assign to someone else, they get a notification.
Manage reminders on the web
You can always visit Google Reminders on a mobile web browser to manage all your current reminders, make any changes, and create reminders.
To create a reminder, go to Google Reminders and click Create .
To mark a reminder as complete, check the box next to the reminder.
To change or delete a reminder, tap on a reminder to view more details. Edit the reminder details and tap Save. To delete the reminder, tap Delete.

Edit a reminder with your voice
You can change a reminder’s details, like the time. For example, you can say:
- “Hey Google, what’s my next reminder?” “Hey Google, change it to 5 PM.”
Close a reminder
- On your Android phone or tablet, say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings."
- Under "All settings," tap Reminders
- Check the box next to the reminder you want to mark as complete.
- On your computer, go to Google Reminders.
- Check the box next to the reminder you want to close.
Delete a reminder
- “Hey Google, delete my reminder to empty the dishwasher.”
- “Hey Google, delete all of my reminders.”
