Listen to news or podcasts

You can ask your Google Assistant to play your favorite news stations and podcasts.

News & podcast commands

  1. On your phone, touch & hold the Home button, or say "Ok Google."
  2. Say command, for example:
    News: Listen to the news. Tell me the news. What’s the latest in technology? Listen to [news source name].
    Podcasts: Listen to [podcast name]. Play the latest episode of [podcast name].
    To type instead, tap Type Type.

Play, pause, & volume commands

  1. On your phone, touch & hold the Home button, or say "Ok Google."
  2. Say a command, for example:
    Pause or stop: Pause. Stop. Stop the [podcast or news].
    Resume: Resume. Continue playing. Continue playing [podcast or news].
    Change volume: Volume up. Volume down.
    Next: Skip. Next. Play next.
    Previous: Previous. Play previous.
    To type instead, tap Type Type.

Control what’s playing manually

  1. On your phone’s screen, swipe from top to bottom.
  2. Tap a control like pause, rewind, or fast forward.

Choose your news sources like NPR or Fox

  1. On your phone, touch & hold the Home button.
  2. At the top right, tap Explore & Your stuff and thenMore More and then Settings and then News.
  3. Add or remove news sources.
  4. To decide which news sources you hear first, tap Change order.
