How to use Forms

What is a Tables form?

Tables has its own type of form that is separate from Google Forms. Tables forms allow you to collect input from people without giving them access to your tables. A form is created and owned by a table, and a table can have multiple forms, to allow for use cases like having different forms for different audiences or in different languages.

How do I add a form to my table?

You can view all forms for the table via the “Forms” button in the view toolbar, which opens a sidebar where you can then create a new form.

When creating a new form or editing an existing form, the form editor dialog will pop up and let you edit the form details and questions in the left column. A preview of the form will show on the right side of the dialog.

Forms settings

  • If you choose to “collect account information”, it will be added to the “Creator” column type in your table.
  • You can restrict forms to the users in your Google Workspace domain.
  • You can restrict to one form submission per user.
  • You can allow users to edit responses.
Note: After saving the form, you cannot change these settings.
