The Applied Digital Skills curriculum has lessons for learners that span a range of ages.

Middle and High School

Applied Digital Skills lessons span a breadth of relevant topics, weaving in necessary digital skills students need for school and the future workplace with standard curriculum topics.

Adult and Continuing Education

Our growing curriculum for adult learners — whether in college, pursuing a high school equivalency degree, or building up digital skills for the workplace — is based on a basic understanding of internet skills.

This includes knowing how to use a web browser and searching the internet. Adult students can use the Basic Digital Skills Guide to review or develop these prerequisite skills.

  1. Open the Basic Digital Skills Guide
  2. Print the guide in color or black and white.
  3. Distribute to students before their first class.
  4. Students can read the guide and complete the practice exercises in about 45 minutes.

Visit the Applied Digital Skills lessons page to see the full curriculum library. In each lesson, students use G Suite for Education, including tools such as Gmail, Docs and Slides, to create projects.

These cloud-based applications work best online (though, once a file is created, students can allow offline editing). The curriculum requires an internet connection to watch videos, but you can always download videos ahead of time for offline viewing. Read more about using Applied Digital Skills without an internet connection.

Filter the curriculum

If you want to focus on a specific audience, application, or topic, take advantage of the search options on the Lessons page. This will filter the lessons available on the site so that you can select one that meets your needs.

You can filter by:

  • Audience
  • Digital tool or app, and
  • Topic

We recently removed the ability to search lessons by state standards from our website as we did not see significant use of the standards. If you're interested in bringing them back, please fill out the Contact Us form and let us know how you'd like to use them.

Bookmark Favorite Lessons
