How to Download My Data

Downloading and Copying Applied Digital Skills Resources

This article outlines how to download your data, videos, and certificates, as well as make copies of teaching materials for Applied Digital Skills.

Downloading Applied Digital Skills data

You can download a copy of your Applied Digital Skills data as a JSON file, directly from your student or teacher profile. This is helpful if you want to have a backup of your data or want to use it with a service outside of Google.

Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to Applied Digital Skills
  2. Click on your icon in the upper right corner
  3. Navigate to My profile
  4. Scroll to the bottom of your profile
  5. Find Download Your Data and click the down arrow

Your export will include information like:

  • The classes you created (as a Teacher) or participated in (as a Student)
  • Lessons you were assigned, and when they were added to your profile
  • Lessons you assigned to your classes
  • Reflection responses

Note: Any student projects created using Docs, Slides, or Sheets for a lesson will still appear in the student’s Google Drive.

The export may take up to 30 seconds to start. JSON is a standard, computer-readable file format. If you need your data in CSV format, you can use online tools to convert the JSON file.

Download Applied Digital Skills Certificates of Completion

Applied Digital Skills offers printable certificates to recognize student achievement. These are available for all lessons.  Anyone can fill out and print a certificate from a lesson’s overview page. Teachers with enrolled students can also generate certificates pre-filled with student names and completed lessons.

If you are logged in as a teacher and have students enrolled in your Applied Digital Skills class, you can also print certificates that are auto-populated with students’ names and lessons completed.

Create an individual certificate

The blank certificate template is located in the Teaching materials section of the lesson overview page. Use this to create a one-off certificate for yourself, for your child, or for a student.

Starting from the lesson overview page:

  1. Click on Certificate of completion. You’ll be taken to a preview with a Print and Download button at the top. (Don’t worry, you’ll be able to fill out the certificate before you actually print it!).
  2. Click the Print button. You’ll be taken to an editable PDF.
  3. Fill in the name by clicking in the blue box and typing. You can also edit the lesson name and award date, if needed.

Print the certificate by clicking the Print icon, or save it as a PDF or other file type by clicking the download icon.

Create certificates for an entire class (Teachers Only)

If you are creating certificates for multiple students or for your entire class, you can generate ones that are auto-populated with student’s names and the lesson they completed.

Starting from the lesson overview page:

  1. Click on Certificate of completion.
  2. Toggle to the Print for a class tab.
  3. Choose your class from the dropdown.
  4. Scroll through to preview the certificates for your enrolled students.
  5. Click the Print button to download your certificates.

Note: To create certificates for a class, you must be logged in as a Teacher and have an Applied Digital Skills class on your dashboard. We also recommend that your class have a lesson assigned to it to make the auto-populating more seamless.

Exporting Applied Digital Skills quiz results

Teachers have the ability to view quiz submissions in the Applied Digital Skills dashboard. Students must be registered with a class in the dashboard and logged in to submit a quiz. Follow these steps to export student quiz submissions to a CSV file:

  1. Sign in to the Applied Digital Skills dashboard
  2. Select a class
  3. Select Quiz Results
  4. In the top right hand corner on this page, a button will appear to Export Results
  5. Once clicked, you will see your students’ quiz submissions in CSV format

Please note that teachers need to export from the dashboard again if additional quiz results are submitted.

Making Copies of Teaching Materials

All lessons in the Applied Digital Skills curriculum come with helpful and guiding materials, including lesson plans and rubrics. Instructors can make a copy of the lesson plan or rubric which will save it to their own Google Drive, and make edits to customize the lessons for their classroom.
