Video Player Features

Applied Digital Skills video-based lessons have distinct features (outlined below) that allow watching videos to be tailored to your needs.

To leverage these features, hover over the three-dot-menu in the lower right hand corner. A pop-up window will appear with the four available options. While all four features are helpful, the Picture in Picture feature is especially helpful to use with Applied Digital Skills.

Note that these features may differ between browsers. Please see this help article for browser compatibility with Applied Digital Skills.

Download

Download the video lesson to watch it offline. The video will appear in your downloads folder as a .mp4 file.

Captions Off

All Applied Digital Skills videos default to having captions on. To turn captions off for a particular video, select this feature.

Playback Speed

The speed of the video can be adjusted in two locations - either under the three-dot-menu or just below the video. Selecting playback speed feature within the three-dot-menu provides you with 5 speed options whereas selecting playback speed below the video provides you with three.

Picture-in-Picture

This feature opens up the video in the lower right corner of your screen and it can be moved around as you navigate to different tabs, windows, etc. For the purposes of Applied Digital Skills, it allows students to view the video lesson and their projects simultaneously, rather than having to toggle between tabs.
